It always amazes me when I see the number of healthcare workers who smoke. We see the worst effects of smoking everyday: Emphysema, Chronic Bronchitis, Lung Cancer, CHF. Here’s some ideas on quitting smoking, today or any day you decide to do so.

I want to share my story how

I want to share my story how I left smoking. Before marriage I was a chain smoker. After marriage, I spontaneously decided to leave smoking, but, I could not leave smoking as I did smoke secretly. This went on for quite a long time. Slowly, my time table and my friends changed and new friends were introduced in my life as per my wife's choice. Since, she was and is a regular church goer and god fearing, she introduced some new friends to me. They all are having same attitudes and choices. At first, it was difficult on my part to adjust with them, later on I started enjoying and admiring them for their ideology as these people try to live lives pleasing to god. When I began attending Sunday services and acutely observe their witnessing before the congregation about how they want to thank god for His grace and wonderful works in their lives, I started envying these people and soon I noticed that my smoking stopped never to occur again in my life.

Now this is surprising. If

Now this is surprising. If these persons are really into healthcare, they should not be smoking in the first place. Forget the bad effects of smoking in the short term and look at the long-term damages it causes. Nearly 70% of cancer is caused due to the effects of smoking.
