The use of two and more cups of coffee in day during pregnancy doubles risk of an abortion, the American scientists have established (installed). In their opinion, women should refuse completely caffeine in first three months after conception, and whenever possible on all extent of pregnancy, informs American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In the research lead by scientists from research center Kaiser Permanente, 1063 women who during pregnancy continued to drink habitual for them volume of coffee took part (participated). The information on frequency and quantity (amount) of consumed coffee and other drinks containing caffeine has been taken from the questionnaires filled by women.

Supervision over participants was conducted down to 20 weeks of pregnancy. For this period 172 women had an abortion.
